A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye.\u00a0 Early symptoms include glare and blurred vision.\u00a0 Things appear darker and not as crisp as before (loss of contrast sensitivity).<\/p>\n

As a general rule we recommend waiting until vision drops to 20\/40 or below, but there are exceptions.<\/p>\n

With improvements in outcomes, patients are seeking treatment at earlier stages than in the past.\u00a0 After the cataract is removed, an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted.\u00a0 IOL\u2019s are available in aspheric, toric, multifocal and extended depth of vision versions.\u00a0 We will review these options with you during your consultation.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Minor Eyelid Surgery<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether you have a stye, chalazion, eyelid cyst, nevus, or other disturbing eyelid lesion, this needs careful attention by an oculoplastic surgeon.<\/p>\n

In contrast to cauterization or freezing done by dermatologists, our procedures require an incision.<\/p>\n

Our specialized equipment includes a radiofrequency unit which cuts and cauterizes simultaneously.<\/p>\n

We also utilize an operating microscope that magnifies the surgical field 2 to 3-fold.<\/p>\n
